Meet & Greet for Adoptable Dogs
Tuesday, July 7, 2015   3-6 PM   Come meet our rescued dogs who are available for adoption. We are open at our shelter, 604 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA. Try to allow a half hour before closing time to meet the dogs. If you are bringing your dog please don't bring it inside until you are asked to do so. Allow extra time if you have not already filled out the adoption application online. Bring the family and any dogs you want to introduce to the potential new family member. Bringing pictures of your living quarters and any past dogs/pets will help us to get to know you better. Don't leave without taking our information packet that explains our adoption protocol and new dog tips.
Please read our "How to Adopt" information and then fill out an application if you would like to be contacted, or come to a Meet & Greet. Thank you!

Carolyn, ~ 2 years Female Beagle / Lab  Mix

Available On: 7/17/15

Apply To Adopt

Carolyn is a 32 lbs sweet mixed breed dog who appears to be tiny Lab mix. She appears to be a beagle mixed with a smaller breed. She is very gentle and sweet so as long as children are careful with her (as she is on the smaller size) she would be good with them. Carolyn is potty trained and walks well on a leash (She only pulls when there is a bird or squirrel in sight and she wants to investigate). She is shy at first but warms up quickly. Carolyn is not an excessive barker even when another dog barks at her while we walk. Any family Carolyn selects as her own will be blessed with lots of love! Carolyn is being fostered in CT as she tested positive for heart worm. She is being treated by the slow kill method and has no microfilaria in her blood, but the snap test still indicates positive so she will be retested in a few weeks.

Available On: 7/20/15

Apply To Adopt

Biscuit is 1 1/2 to 2 yrs old, she is a very sweet young dog who has had to endure rejection from her previous owner so she needs someone to be gentle, kind and patient with her. She will need a couple of weeks of close bonding so that she will trust and feel comfortable with her new family. She is bright, observant, very loving and eager to please, fully house trained and very good in her crate. She enjoys playing with other dogs, taking long on leash walks and snuggling. She does well in the car but is a bit anxious for the first few minutes, she does not get car sick. Her foster Mom feels that a fenced yard is necessary so Biscuit will not be able to follow her nose if the opportunity arises, she is a Beagle x. She is fine with housecats but will chase a cat outdoors, she has been living with a cat in her foster home and done very nicely but outdoors on the farm there are barn cats that will give her a run every now & then, all in fun never any harm done. Biscuit is a very loving little dog and needs her forever family to be just that a forever family, she has been through enough changes in her young life so if you are that committed forever family come meet this sweetheart and make her your newest family member, she will not disappoint you. She loves everyone of all ages.

Available On: 8/9/15

Apply To Adopt

Pearl is the mother to the puppies who look like Cattle / Akita mixes. Pearl is only 35 lbs, but her pups are quite large. Pearl is a sweet dog and a good Mom to her pups as you can see from the pictures. When they were all fed, she made sure the puppies had enough to eat. She has been known to gently push the bowl of food over to the puppies to be sure they eat. She let them nurse well beyond typical weaning. They stayed with her until they were 11 weeks. She is heart worm positive as is the case of many adult dogs from the south who are forced to live out doors and not given protection from mosquitos. She is being treated so that she can come quickly and be adopted too. Please help by sponsoring her. Pearl is a sweet dog who will have her day soon. Please keep her in your prayers. She's probably got a few months to go unless we can get special permission from the state, which can be very difficult.
