Hobo, 7-8 months Male Chow / Collie

Hobo is a neutered male Chow/Collie mix who is around 7-8 mo old (according to the vet). He was tossed out near a humane society in rural TN and some people at a nearby business found him living under a shed on their property. They kept him inside the office during the day, but no one would take him home at night so they turned him back out at night when the office closed. This went on for a few days and the humane society threatened to catch him and put him to sleep....even though he was not bothering anything or anyone.
The office worker put out a plea for someone to rescue him. He is shy for the first few minutes when he meets a stranger, but within 5 minutes he wants to be petted. He is great in the car, good on a leash, very gentle natured, playful. He seems fine with other dogs.....did not growl or bark at them even when they barked at him.......he just wanted to play with them.
He loves his rope toys and will try to get you to play with him by bringing the toys to you. He would do well in a home with children who will play with him and be kind to him while he gets adjusted. He would enjoy the company of another friendly, playful dog. He likes being outside as well as inside....so a fenced yard would be nice and a dog door would be good. He is available to be seen after 1/9/09.
