New Rescues from North Carolina
These girls came all the way up from NC on January 30, 2000 after traveling for two days and riding in a number of cars, vans, and trucks. Thank God for CUR (Canine Underground Railroad) or these girls would not be alive today.
sheri_rescues2 These lovely little doggies came up from NC, thanks to some wonderful volunteers from CUR, Sheri Hearn (pictured left), and Vicky Lacy of NC, who coordinated the whole thing and kept us all posted with hourly emails as to their progress on the trip. They were transported through the East Coast ice and snow storm on Saturday, spent the night at volunteer Daniela's in NJ, (who gave them a nice grooming) and sent them on their way to Hartsdale, NY and then up to CT, RI, and finally MA. Whew! 835 miles in all. I think they'll sleep well for at least a few days.

angie
The lovely Angie, world's smallest female beagle. Now don't fight over her, folks. We've got several applications already for a dog like Angie, so we will contact them in order of application received. Isn't she a doll!
sheri_patches patches
Welcome, Patches, terrier mix wonder dog. Patches is approximately a year old, but playful as any pup we've seen. She loves to chases balls and play tug o' war. She's spayed and ready to go.
readytogo Here they are in Shirley's van, ready to make the last leg of their trip North.

sheri_rescues
Here's rescuer Sheri Hearn with her two little trophies. Sheri is a Save A Dog volunteer who lives in RI and got hooked on rescue by helping out with some of these transports. Way to go, Sheri!

toybin
Here they are shortly after arriving in Sudbury. Uh-oh, they've discovered the toy bin!
toy_grabbing Here's Jayne of Save A Dog, playing keep away with Patches. Angie was content to sit in Jayne's lap.
thirsty_beagle Well, it was at this point that we realized how thirsty the dogs were, so we got them all settled with big bowls of water and nice warm beds.

Thanks to all our Southern dog advocates for saving these two girls. They are well worth it!
