Subject: Website Success Story - Skippy
Just a quick note to let you know how fabulously Skippy has settled into our family. He and
our other dog, Coco, get along famously. Coco is a lab-dachsund we adopted last year and is
the same age is Skippy. The two are perfectly suited and they each take turns instigating
the next round of wrestling with a playful leg nip. They sometimes look ferocious with those
teeth bared, but clearly have established their own rules and have a wonderful time playing.
If one of them does get out of hand, the other quickly ends the wrestling with a brief growl
and they immediately switch to giving each other licks instead! Coco, Skippy's and their "litter
mates" -- namely our 8-year old twins -- are enjoying a wonderful summer and do a great
job tiring out one another.
We are happy (and relieved!) to report that Skippy has finally overcome his fear of going
up/down stairs. It took about a month to get him to go down the stairs and it seemed like
nothing would get him to go up. A few weeks ago during a very loud
afternoon thunderstorm, my daughter and her friend ran upstairs and Skippy (no fan of
thunder) decided his only choice was to follow them to safety. Since then he has been
running up and down the stairs, no problem.
We've enclosed a picture of our 4-legged friends sharing a toy.
Thanks again for helping bring Skippy into our lives. It already feels like he's been part of the
family forever!
