Trapper and Sadie - Adopted: 2/29/2008

Hi there,
Sorry we haven't updated you sooner but here we go. We adopted a Husband and Wife couple on Feb 29, 2008. Trapper is a male Mix breed Golden Retriever/Chow approx. age of 5. Sadie is a female Mix breed Catahoula mix approx.age of 2 1/2. These were the ages when we got them. We were told they had to be adopted together. I can see why because they truly love and trust each other. Sadie is the more sociable of the two. She craves attention from anyone yet she is a great watch dog. Trapper is the shy type staying mostly away from the crowds. Together they play most of the time. Both of them love children as we have 5 grandchildren. The funniest times we have are when the two dogs hear sirens from Fire or Police vehicles. They both stop what they are doing, sit down and start to howl like they were harmonizing with the sirens. It is truly the funniest thing. They have the run of the house and have learned where they can and cannot go. The dogs were originally from Tenn. and probably had learned to live on the streets as they were always getting into the trash looking for food. When they found out we would give them plenty of food and treats they have backed off looking in the trash. We don't believe in tying the dogs up for any reason but like to let them run around our large yard. We bought an invisible fence and once the dogs learned where their borders were we found no need to buy batteries for the collars. We continue to let them wear them because it reminds them that they must stay in the yard. We never realized that having two dogs was better than one because they keep each other company when we are at work.
Thanks
Steve and Cindy Gallant
