Hi everyone at Save a Dog and Friends For Life!
I just wanted to let you know how much progress Gypsy has made in the last few months. Her socialization skills have really improved and she is so much more confident and outgoing. We took her to the beach and let her off the leash for the first time and she did great! She stuck pretty close to us, but seemed to enjoy the freedom and even got her feet wet in the waves (which was a huge improvement from last time when she was afraid of just the sound of the waves). Alec and I take her hiking in the woods and she has gone from being a follower who sticks to us like glue to a bit of a trail blazer! She goes out of her way to jump over trees and rocks, and you can tell she's very proud when she makes a big jump. We recently took her to a golf course where she had her first encounter with a significant amount of snow and she had a blast. She loves to prance and play in the snow (and also really enjoys eating it)! And once I showed her how to chase the geese, I couldn't get her to stop. It was the happiest I have ever seen her. She gets along well with my family's three dogs and Alec's parents' dog, but she's not great at sharing and seems to enjoy all of the attention she gets being the only pet.
Thanks again for everything you did for us. It has been amazing to see Gypsy transform over the last few months to such a confident and trusting dog. We will continue to send updates. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
-Sara and Alec
