Hi Jill and Happy New Year!
We wanted to give you an update on Maddie's (Tavia) progress. Also, we've sent Save A Dog a contribution of $500 which you should receive shortly. That will also be equally matched by Sharon's company. We appreciate all the work everyone there does and we're so thankful Maddie is a part of our family.
Maddie is growing like a weed and eating like a horse! When we adopted her in mid October, she weighted 29 pounds. At her last veterinary check-up just recently, she was 52 lean pounds! She was spayed in mid December and recovered very nicely. She spends weekdays mostly with Wes, going for walks, napping or playing outside in our backyard or in our home, or going along in the truck for short rides. Evenings are spent with all of us in the family room, usually with Maddie enjoying her own couch or curling up with one of us in front of the TV and a nice fire. She loves her toys, bully sticks and marrow bones. She's really been enjoying all the snow we've gotten lately and loves playing fetch and romping through the snow trying to find the toy or two that's hidden in it.
Her training with Paul Emerson is also going very well and we plan to continue that for some time. She enjoys learning and Paul has said she's a very sweet dog with a "big motor" and lots of energy.
We'll close for now, but have included some pics of Maddie. Please feel free to pass this along to her foster home in Indiana. We want them to know how much she's loved, too, and how grateful we are to have her and all the joy she gives us.
Best regards,
Wes and Sharon
